Prof. Detlef Zühlke is known as the pioneer of Industry 4.0, which evolved from the smartfactory-KL. He was the founder and CEO of this organization until his retirement in 2019. He was also a research director at the Innovative Factory Systems department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI and a full Professor at the University of Kaiserslautern/Germany. After his retirement he is still active as an honorary executive board member of the smartfactory-KL association and also a keynote speaker and consultant on the international level.
