Adam Gontarz graduated as a mechanical engineer at the TU Stuttgart. He worked as a research associate and did his PhD degree at the IWF at the ETH Zürich. Furthermore, he holds an Executive MBA degree from the ZHAW. At Swissmem, he has been responsible for the strategic and operational management of the industry sectors “Additive Manufacturing” and “Automotive”. Since April 2023, he became the Head of Digitalization, Innovation &Technology and a member of the Swissmem Executive Board. He is also founder and CEO of the ETH spin-off SIGMAtools GmbH, which offers innovative solutions in the field of data acquisition and analysis as well as resource optimization of complex mechatronic systems, machines and buildings. He brings with him a broad range of expertise and practical industry experience. At the same time, he is a guest lecturer for industrial communication, digitalization and innovation management at the OST and the HSLU.
